Donor Family Services and Aftercare Summit (October 1-2 2024, Kansas City, KS)

WHERE: The Donor Family Services and Aftercare Best Practices Summit will be held in Kansas City, KS at Midwest Transplant Network.

WHEN: October 1-2, 2024

WHERE: Midwest Transplant Network 1900 W. 47th Place, Suite 400 Westwood, KS 66205 (913-262-1668)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The Summit is open to all OPO staff who are involved in some aspect of donor family care, which includes those involved in family services or aftercare. The Summit is open to staff of any level, from the front line hospital and call center staff all the way up to senior leadership.

Because space is limited, OPOs are asked to check with RPG if more than five participants will be registering.

WHAT WILL BE COVERED: The Summit will discuss how those in Donor Family Services and Aftercare roles have been adapting their communication and outreach over the last few years and what issues are currently impacting their ability to help families and what actions they’ve taken that have proved to be helpful.

This will be a highly collaborative, discussion-based Summit, and participants will be broken out into moderated breakout rooms to share their individual ideas and challenges with their peers.

COST: There is no fee for the Summit. Dinner is provided on the 1st and lunch is provided on the 2nd (as well as light breakfast refreshments and snacks). Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
